Shark Guardian in Moalboal

During his recent visit in December 2014, award winning and Platinum PADI Course Director Camille Lemmens conducted a Shark Guardian presentation in Moalboal.

Shark Guardian is a UK Charity for shark and marine conservation projects worldwide, spear headed by Brendon Sing and Elizabeth Ward-Sing who are the directors and they manage all Shark Guardian events, activities and projects worldwide on a full time basis.

PADI 5* IDC Center ‘Neptune Diving Adventure’ is the first Shark Guardian Dive Center in the Philippines and the presentation in Moalboal was not only the first ever presentation for Shark Guardian in Moalboal, but also in all of the Philippines.

The turnout for the evening was very impressing, with some 50 people showing up and listening to interesting shark facts and watching the slide presentation with it’s video’s and explanations by Camille.

Currently there are two Shark Guardian Dive centers in the Philippines, with the addition of Exotic on Malapascua and Shark Guardian is ready to take on more Dive Center in the Philippines, to spread the word!

More knowledge and awareness needs to be shared and brought out into the world. Sharks need more protection worldwide and Shark Guardian is doing their bit in helping getting the word out. They are involved in various projects with leopard and whale sharks among others.

Nothing has been confirmed yet but there may be some more Shark Guardian presentations in the Philippines coming up in March. Stay tuned to these pages for more updates and we will love to welcome you during one of our presentations. More presentations are need and we will get the word out. I’m looking forward to get back to the Philippines and have the opportunity to complete a couple of more presentations.
